This project involved demolishing a poorly designed pool deck and removing tropical palm trees from this landscaping north of Gainesville & Haymarket, VA. The new design used bilateral symmetry, classic details, and beautiful plantings in keeping with the architectural features of the home and neighborhood. A tall retaining wall was built to extend the pool deck, a custom Techo Bloc patio was installed, as well as a Brown Jordan Pergola that frames a raised sitting area. Under the deck was remodeled, posts were moved and encased in columns to create a better flow, attractive cedar paneling was added, as well as a dry snap ceiling. An outdoor kitchen complete with Bull stainless steel fixtures was installed as well.
A fun story about the pergola: originally the design included a custom pergola, but it was to be built in a later phase. About 6 months after this project was complete, a company representative from Brown Jordan Outdoor Living contacted our company. They wanted to use one of our projects for a photoshoot, and would give our client the pergola at no cost. Our client received this pergola and his home was featured in the Brown Jordan Outdoor catalog and website that year.
