This outdoor landscaping project in Culpeper, VA included many facets of outdoor living, from an entertaining area, to a kitchen complete with plumbed sink, refrigerator, built-in grill, and cabinets. The counter tops are granite, and all the accoutrements are specifically built to withstand being outdoors. Columns were placed to accommodate a future arbor that will be built over the entertaining area in a later phase of the design. A seat wall was included to give the space the option to entertain a large group. One goal of the design was to keep the cooking and entertaining areas separate, but to still provide good flow between the two. The fireplace not only provides a focal point and architectural interest, but warmth and a pleasant ambiance on a cool fall evening. The stone facade was chosen to match the existing stone facade on the front of the house. Coping stone was used for the mantle to help tie it to the colors in the patio.
